Professor and students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University visited Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum

　　On March 11th, 2023, Xue Song, associate professor of German Department from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visited Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum with her students. They discussed issues of collaboration between the department and the museum with the Director of Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, Chen Jian.

　　Professor Xue currently supervises on the students’ research project, The images of Shanghai portrayed by German Jewish print artist Bloch, the focus of which is the German Jewish artist DavidBloch who escaped to Shanghai during the Second World War. This project had been awardedtheInnovation Training Project of the National Undergraduate Training Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2022.

　　Director Chen said that these Jewish artists had made significant contribution to the development of the diverse cultures in Shanghai and the positive influence that the Jewish refugees brought to Shanghai from the perspective of building a community with a shared future for humanity should be shown to the world.
