Time:2020/11/11 10:17:46

The buildings at No.71-95 Huoshan Road and No.1-81 Zhoushan Road, built in the late 1920s, are contiguous to one another in European classic style. As it was the place where most of the Jewish refugees in Shanghai had lived during the Second World War, the area became a commercial center with an exotic atmosphere, known as “Little Vienna”. Mr. Michael Blumenthal, former Secretary of Treasury of the United States and the present curator of the Jewish Museum in Berlin, lived in a small garret at No.59 Zhoushan Road. They are civilian residence now.
