Exchanges with Holocaust Museum Houston
On April 9, 2008, Susan Myers, director of Holocaust Museum Houston, visited the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, and met with Director Chen. Holocaust Museum Houston receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. This museum mainly depends on public donations. Susan Myers suggests Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum take part in Association of Holocaust Organizations so as to expand its cooperation scope.。

On Jan. 2, 2008, Daniel Dratwa, Director of the Jewish Museum of Belgium visited the renovated Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum in the company of Chen Jian, director of Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum. They had a friendly talk. Mr. Chen, on behalf of the Museum, presented Shanghai Jewish Refugees, a book by Pan Guang, to Mr. Dratwa as a gift and expressed his wish for further cooperation between the two museums.。

Judaism is the religion, philosophy and way of life of the Jewish people. Its major commandments and doctrines stem from "Torah”, the first five books of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). The most important doctrine in Judaism is that God is invisible and immortal. He commands justice and pity. Since God has created human beings according to his own image, all people should be equally respected. Most Jewish religious activities are held at home. Believers mostly pray in Synagogues and the prayer rituals are chaired by knowledgeable believers. For example, Cantors and Rabbis are professional religious instructors who once studied at Yrshiva.。
