Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition in Memory of Dr. Feng Shan Ho & the Unveiling Ceremony of the Plate in His Honor Held at the Museum

On the afternoon of June 11, 2008, the opening ceremony of the Pictures Exhibition “Feng Shan Ho and Jewish Refugees – from Vienna to Shanghai” was held at Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum. The exhibition was co-sponsored by China Association for International Friendly Contacts and the United States Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad.
Over 80 Chinese and foreign guests attended the event, including Chen Jun, deputy secretary general of China Association for International Friendly Contacts, Fu Jihong, deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Ying Mingyong, deputy mayor of Hongkou District, Martin Gold, member of the US Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, Ken Jarrett, Consul General of the US in Shanghai, and Ma Yong, secretary of the CPC Committee of Yiyang city, Hunan. After all attendees paid silent tribute to Wenchuan earthquake victims for one minute, Chen Jun, Martin Gold, Man Lai Ho, and former Jewish refugees delivered speeches successively. Fu Jihong and Ken Jarrett unveiled the memorial brass medal in honor of Dr Feng Shan Ho contributed by US. Then, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Pictures Exhibition commenced.
